We fly the same handful of UK routes more than any others. Here are the ten that come up most often, with 2026 indicative costs on the Agusta A109 Grand SP — our default executive twin — for six passengers, return same day, all-in.
All figures are wheels-up at London Battersea Heliport unless noted otherwise. For the underlying pricing logic see our 2026 helicopter hire prices guide and the existing how a charter cost is made up breakdown.
§ 01 / ROUTE
1. London → Silverstone
Flight time 25 minutes each way. The British Grand Prix at Silverstone is the single most-flown UK helicopter weekend of the year — on Sunday race day there are over 200 helicopter movements in the hour around the lights.
- Day return, six pax, A109: ~£13,500 all-in.
- Same on the lighter AS355 Twin Squirrel (5 seats): ~£11,000.
- Book peak Sunday slots three to four weeks out — late availability is rare.
§ 02 / ROUTE
2. London → Royal Ascot
Flight time 15 minutes each way. Royal Ascot is the social event of the racing calendar — Battersea or Biggin Hill to the on-site landing field, minutes from the Royal Enclosure.
- Day return, six pax, A109: ~£12,000.
- Most clients book Ladies Day or Gold Cup Day specifically — both sell out shuttle slots first.
- Single-charter A109 from Biggin Hill instead of Battersea: ~£11,200 (no Battersea fee).
§ 03 / ROUTE
3. London → Goodwood Festival of Speed
Flight time 32 minutes each way. Goodwood Festival of Speed weekend in July is one of the year's other peak helicopter weeks — the on-site Goodwood Aerodrome accepts arrivals across all three days.
- Day return, six pax, A109: ~£14,000.
- Saturday and Sunday peak — book three to four weeks ahead.
- Same destination for the Goodwood Revival in September — slightly lower demand, similar pricing.
§ 04 / ROUTE
4. London → Cheltenham
Flight time 45 minutes each way. The Cheltenham Festival in March is the National Hunt's biggest week, and the alternative — the M40/M5 in Cheltenham week — is famously punishing.
- Day return, six pax, A109: ~£15,500.
- Gold Cup Friday is the peak — landing slots sell out first.
- Worth the spend on Festival days: M5 closures regularly add 90 minutes to the journey by car.
§ 05 / ROUTE
5. London → Southampton / Cowes Week
Flight time 40 minutes each way. Cowes Week sailing regatta is one of the busiest UK helicopter weeks outside the racing calendar. From Battersea, land at Lee-on-Solent or direct onto private estates around the Solent.
- Day return, six pax, A109: ~£14,800.
- Combine with the Isle of Wight Festival in June for a long weekend package.
§ 06 / ROUTE
6. London → Manchester city centre
Flight time 65 minutes each way. The classic business route. Heliport access in central Manchester puts you on Deansgate inside 75 minutes from Battersea — a journey that takes 3+ hours by jet plus transfers.
- Single one-way, six pax, A109: ~£8,500.
- Same-day return: ~£18,500 including a four-hour aircraft hold.
- More on Manchester helicopter access for site-specific landing options. See also why business travellers choose helicopters over cars.
§ 07 / ROUTE
7. London → Biggin Hill (jet transfer)
Flight time 8 minutes. The most-flown short transfer in the UK — central London to a long-range business jet on the ramp at Biggin Hill.
- One-way, four pax, A109: ~£4,500 all-in.
- Saves 50 minutes versus a Mayfair-to-Biggin Hill car transfer in traffic.
- Full breakdown in our Biggin Hill to Battersea transfer article.
§ 08 / ROUTE
8. London → Henley Royal Regatta
Flight time 18 minutes. Henley in early July is a week of premium hospitality and full hotels. Helicopter landing strip is a short walk to the Stewards' Enclosure.
- Day return, six pax, A109: ~£11,800.
- Often combined with Ascot in the same week for clients doing the season.
§ 09 / ROUTE
9. London → Wimbledon
Wimbledon doesn't have an on-site landing field, so this route involves Battersea or Fairoaks plus a short car transfer to SW19. Still faster than driving from central London on finals weekend.
- Battersea base + car to Wimbledon, six pax, A109: ~£6,200 outbound.
- Finals weekend slots sell out first — book three weeks ahead.
§ 10 / ROUTE
10. Battersea → country house weekend
Not a fixed destination — but consistently in our top 10 by volume. Friday afternoon Battersea to a private estate in the Cotswolds, Hampshire or East Anglia, returning Sunday. The full process of landing at a country house is covered in our private-site landings article.
- Outbound + return, six pax, A109: ~£13,000–£16,000 depending on distance.
- Common destinations: Cirencester area, Sandringham/Norfolk, North Cotswolds, South Hams Devon.
All ten of these routes are workable across our fleet. The AS355 is roughly 25% cheaper for 4–5 pax; the H145 opens the door to 7–9 pax. Match the aircraft to the party size and the price drops fast.
